I think the article was GREAT! It is so important to get all the support you can while you are going through the (in)fertility process. Thanks for posting it on your site!!

Thanks Erin. We used to cook our own beans, but for convenience we buy canned. I will be doing our own beans again. Thank you for the reminder that it is all better for us from scratch and that we have contributed to our personal health.

[...] If you have a chronic health condition or a history of a chronic condition in your family, do not consume processed soy or simply avoid it all together. There is no real health claim to soy that you cannot find in other foods. If you enjoy soy and choose to incorporate it in your diet – do so sparingly, as part of a diet rich in other proteins and consume it with the appropriate preparation. If you can, buy whole and dried soybeans and prepare them yourself by soaking them overnight. You can follow my easy recipe for that here. [...]

Sounds really yummy! It reminds me of one of my favorite "after the Holidays" dishes...lentil stew. It was cooked with vegetables and the left-over Christmas ham. We always had enough to freeze for two or three additional meals and it was sooo good. I miss it, since we haven't had the need for a large Christmas ham for the last couple of years. It might be time to cook up some beans. Thanks for the reminder.

It looks like you've had a full year and a very interesting one, as well.
Kudos on completing two successful years of your practice and all the best
wishes for continued success and growth. I really love the articles and all
the "real food" tips. It's true that healthy food can also really taste good!
I'm looking forward to more advice and tips in 2011.

[...] Growing up, pumpkin carving was always a well-looked forward to event in my home (we even had our household cat, Jackie O’Lantern Hessel, named after my sister’s true obsession with this time of the year). Dad would line the garage floor with newspaper and clean pumpkins for the whole family to carve. Mom would roast the seeds for snacking while the artistry took place. It was quite the production, to say the least. Moving into my own home – and now, cleaning my own pumpkins – I realized that the task wasn’t all that hard: Cut a whole in the top, scoop out the insides, and go! Even do-able in a New York City kitchen. [...]
